Wright Information is a green business. Occupying an
office in a building designed to maximize passive solar
        energy with trombe
walls, we consume only one third of the average propane
        usage every winter for heat.

Surrounded by xeric plants chosen for their viability in
the arid high southwest, we use less than one fourth of the
average water use in our area. Average residential water
use per month is 9,011 gallons locally. Our average usage
is 2,000 gallons, and almost every roof is collecting
rainwater in barrels ranging from 50 gallons to 1,500
gallons for the garden and to water trees that need
supplemental water during droughts. After an intensive
study of our electric use, we have managed to cut our
electric bills in half, partly through the use of the

Kill-A-Watt device which helps to measure electric use
for appliances. And by using laptops and flat screen
monitors, and by using Parallels on a Mac, we
reduced the need for energy-hungry desktop computers, and
the need for separate Mac and PC installations. We have a
complete recycling program, including composting and a worm
        bin, for all office papers.

We are very proud of our efforts to reduce our impact on
the environment, and are planning to invest in more solar
technology. As a home-based business, driving is not part
of the job. Please ask us if you would like to know more
        about our energy-saving efforts.
